Dry Van Truck Bodies: FAQ Guide
What Is a Dry Van Truck?
A dry van truck is an enclosed cargo truck used to transport goods that need to be weatherproof (such as electronics, clothing, and other non-perishable items). The body is made of FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) skin and lightweight core material. Its wall panels, roof panels, and floors are tough and durable.
What Materials Are Dry Van Truck Panels Made Of?
- Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer XPS Foam Panel
XPS (Extruded Polystyrene) has a closed-cell structure that can effectively reduce heat conduction. When combined with FRP to form a sandwich panel, it can resist water vapor, impact, and UV rays.
- Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer PET Foam Panel
PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) foam does not absorb water, has high strength, and is an eco-friendly, recyclable material. It can be composited with FRP, CFRT or aluminum.
- Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer Plywood Panel
The surface of the plywood is covered with a fiberglass layer, which has better waterproofing, appearance and durability.
- Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer PP Honeycomb Panel
PP (polypropylene) honeycomb is composited with glass fiber or CFRT, which is ultra-tough and ultra-light.
