What Is a Multi-temperature Zone Refrigerated Truck?

Multi-Temperature Zone Refrigerated Trucks are specially designed insulated box trucks/trailers with the interior of the compartment partitioned into 2 to 4 different temperature zones, which can be ambient, refrigerated, Ice temperature, frozen, etc. The insulated foam wall panels of the compartment prevent outside heat from entering the compartment, and a chiller blows cold air into the compartment to maintain a predetermined temperature. A thermostat can control the temperature of each temperature zone, and the temperature can be adjusted to meet the needs of the cargo. More types of goods can be loaded using multi-temperature zone refrigerated trucks, adding more profit.

What Are the Types of Refrigerated Vehicles?

According to the transport needs, refrigerated truck types are divided into insulated trucks, fully refrigerated trucks, refrigerated trailers, multi-temperature refrigerated trucks and so on.

• Insulated Vehicle: It is not equipped with a refrigeration machine, the compartment is made of 50mm thick FRP XPS/PU foam insulated sandwich panel, which can keep the cargo cool by insulating the heat from outside. Our one-piece insulated panels and superior sealing design have excellent airtightness and thermal insulation, which can effectively prevent the thermal bridge effect.
• Box Refrigerated Truck: the most common van-type refrigerated truck, the compartments are made of insulating materials and refrigeration equipment, which can maintain the set temperature for a long time, and the temperature control system is flexible.
• Refrigerated trailer: refrigerated small/large trailer consists of two parts: tractor and refrigerated semi-trailer, mainly used for long-distance transport.
• Full Refrigerated Vehicle: The compartment is equipped with thicker and better insulated materials, and doors with better sealing performance. The compartments are made of one-piece composite panels, modular design, and quick installation without rivets.

Temperature Zones of Multi-temperature Refrigerated Trucks

• Room temperature (AMBT): temperature range of 15°C to 20°C for products that do not require refrigeration or freezing.
• COOL: Designed for temperature-sensitive items, the 2°C to 15°C temperature range is suitable for perishable goods that need to be kept cool but not frozen.
• ICE Temp: A temperature range of -2°C to 2°C, typically used for short-term storage (e.g. chilled chicken, chilled prawns) for products that need to be kept at a temperature slightly above freezing.
• COLD: A temperature range of -10°C to -2°C is used for frozen commodities (e.g. ham) that need to be kept in a solid state.
• Deep Freeze (FROZ): Items in this category are kept at temperatures below -10°C to ensure that products requiring very low temperatures (e.g. ice cream, pharmaceuticals, frozen fish, frozen beef, frozen lamb) remain frozen throughout the logistics process.
